Marita Dingus, Visual Artist

At Coe today with one of my favorite artists making dolls in the art studio. Marita Dingus has inspired me for years. She's why I stop before throwing out even the smallest scrap of yarn or fabric. What can be done with a pop top? A few years ago, I had my mother's wedding dress turned into two talitot, prayer shawls. Marita is why I I tie old fabric and ribbon to ponytail holders and wear them like precious bird's nest at the nap of my neck. Just today my friend Jacqui was over as I was going through my closet getting rid of the excess that someone else could wear. She looked at a skirt and said, "this would make a terrific pillow..." So, it's on its way to becoming a terrific pillow... Marita would be proud.
